Image copyright and licensing

All photographs, illustrations, graphics and other images used on this website and in Apex Pest Control Ltd’s marketing materials (the “Images”) are protected by copyright and related intellectual property rights. The Images are original artistic works and cannot be freely copied, reused or adapted without permission, except where the law provides a specific exception.

Ownership of Apex Pest Control images

Unless we clearly state otherwise, Apex Pest Control Ltd (“Apex Pest Control”, “we”, “us”) owns the copyright in the Images or is authorised to license their use. Some Images may be created by our employees in the course of their employment, and others may be created by commissioned photographers, designers or agencies where we have obtained the necessary rights to use the Images for our business.

Some Images and graphic elements may belong to third parties and are used by Apex Pest Control under licence or other permission. Ownership of those Images remains with the relevant rights holder, and no ownership or licence is granted to you in respect of them by visiting this website.

Default position: all rights reserved

Except as expressly allowed on this page or in a separate written agreement with us, all rights in the Images are reserved. You must not, without appropriate permission:

  • Copy, download, save, reproduce or print any Image, other than as part of viewing this website in your web browser.
  • Publish, post or display any Image on another website, platform, social media account, intranet or application.
  • Use any Image in advertising, marketing, case studies, brochures, training materials, videos or other promotional or commercial content.
  • Edit, crop, overlay, filter, manipulate or otherwise adapt any Image, including combining it with other graphics or logos.
  • Remove, hide or alter any copyright notice, watermark, credit line or embedded metadata associated with an Image.

Any such activity may amount to infringement of copyright and/or other rights.

Limited permitted use: linking, not copying

You may share or post a standard hyperlink to a page on the Apex Pest Control website where an Image appears, provided that:

  • You do not copy, download, re‑host or embed the Image itself.
  • You do not suggest that Apex Pest Control endorses or is affiliated with you, your organisation or your content, unless we have agreed this in writing.

Linking to our pages in this way does not grant you any rights in the Images themselves.

Use of third‑party and stock images

Some Images on this website may be supplied by external photographers, image libraries or other rights holders. These third‑party Images are used by Apex Pest Control under specific licences or permissions. Those licences do not extend to visitors to our website.

If you wish to use a third‑party Image that appears on our website, you may need to approach the relevant rights holder or their licensing body directly to obtain permission. We are not usually able to grant licences on behalf of third‑party suppliers unless we expressly state that we can do so.

When you need an Image licence from Apex Pest Control

You will normally need a licence from us if you wish to use any Image controlled by Apex Pest Control (for example, our original photography, branded imagery or graphics) in any of the following ways:

  • On your own website, blog or social media channels.
  • In printed materials, such as flyers, brochures, reports or training packs.
  • In advertising, promotional campaigns or press releases.
  • In presentations, videos, signage, vehicle livery or product packaging.

A licence may be required whether your use is commercial or non‑commercial, and whether or not payment is involved, unless a narrow statutory exception applies.

What an Apex Pest Control image licence may cover

Where we agree to license an Image, we will normally set out key terms in writing, such as:

  • Which specific Image(s) you may use.
  • The purpose of use (for example, editorial article, internal training, marketing campaign).
  • The territory in which you may use the Image(s) (for example, UK‑only or worldwide).
  • The media and formats covered (for example, print, web, social media, video).
  • The duration of the licence.
  • Any fees or royalties payable.
  • Any required credit or attribution wording.
  • Any technical or brand‑use guidelines you must follow.

Licences granted by Apex Pest Control are usually non‑exclusive, meaning we may continue to use the Image ourselves and may license it to others.

Moral rights and credits

The creators of Images may have “moral rights”, including the right to be identified as the author and the right to object to derogatory treatment of their work. Even where the economic copyright in an Image is owned or controlled by Apex Pest Control, the moral rights of the original creator may still apply unless they have been validly waived.

Where a licence requires you to provide a credit or other acknowledgement, you must display it in the form and location specified in your licence or as otherwise agreed with us.

No implied licence

Viewing the website, receiving our materials or downloading content as part of normal browsing does not grant you any licence to reuse the Images beyond what is technically necessary to access the site. No licence is implied by silence, by the absence of a watermark, or by the absence of a copyright symbol.

How to request permission

If you wish to use an Apex Pest Control Image, you must contact us in advance so that we can confirm whether we control the relevant rights and, if so, whether we are prepared to grant a licence. Please see our dedicated page “How to license Apex Pest Control images” for details of the information we need from you and how we will consider your request: https://apex-pest-control.co.uk/how-to-license-apex-pest-control-images/

No licence is granted unless and until you receive written confirmation from us (for example, by email or signed agreement) setting out the licence terms and you accept those terms. Any use outside the scope of an agreed licence will be treated as unlicensed use.

Existing contracts and partners

If you already have a written contract or framework agreement with Apex Pest Control (for example, as a client, supplier or partner), that agreement may contain specific provisions about your use of our Images. If there is any inconsistency between that contract and this Image Licence page, the terms of your contract will usually take precedence.

This Image Licence page provides general information and does not amount to legal advice. If you are unsure about your position or about any proposed use of Images, you should obtain independent legal advice.
