Millhouses has deep roots in Sheffield’s industrial past, with its name reflecting its early role as a site for grinding corn and powering mills along the River Sheaf. The area’s riverside location made it ideal for water-powered industry, and by the 17th century, several mills were operating in the valley, contributing to the growing economy of nearby Sheffield.
